Creating Our Future presents: An online fireside chat with Emilie Pine

Join host Ruth Freeman, Director of Science for Society, Science Foundation Ireland for an in-depth conversation with Emilie Pine, Professor of Modern Drama at UCD, and author of the no. 1 non-fiction bestseller Notes to Self, about her work, the importance of research for the Arts & Humanities and what will make a better future for Ireland.

The online event, part of the Creating Our Future campaign, will feature a one-on-one-conversation between Emilie and host Ruth, with an interactive brainstorming session.

Or it could be based on a topic that someone is curious or passionate about. Creating Our Future wants to hear them all – whatever facet of life they relate to.

Through online events like this one, Creating Our Future is speaking to broad and diverse communities across Ireland to capture their ideas to create a better future.

PMTC Knowledge Day 2021

Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technology Sector

This year’s PMTC Knowledge Day will be delivered on a virtual conference platform allowing for a wider reach and more flexible delivery from our speakers. The platform will remain active for a period of 12 months, allowing delegates revisit each presentation for that period of time.

This year’s programme will once again highlight the focus Irish pharmaceutical processing places on research and advancement of technologies. PMTC are actively supporting the needs of both our SME and larger MNC members through peer-to-peer networking, the sharing of industry knowledge and core research into cutting edge technologies for the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.

Talking Towns – Just Transition and Irish Towns

UCD Centre for Irish Towns

Talking Towns is a new seminar series organised by UCD Centre for Irish Towns and UCD Earth Institute. The series aims to spark conversations about the challenges facing Irish towns, the opportunities they offer, and the role of research and policy in bringing about the revitalisation of towns in Ireland.

Starting in October 2021 the series will run on the first Thursday of the month at lunchtime. The series will feature speakers from academia, policymaking and civil society. Each seminar will address a specific topic affecting Irish towns and will have three speakers, each presenting for ten minutes each with plenty of time for discussion afterwards.
